Welcome, Movie Lovers and Video Marketers!
Hi everyone, it’s a delight to have you here! Isn’t it fascinating how we continue to witness a fascinating transformation in the world of cinema? I’m not just talking about the introduction of 4D, Virtual Reality, and other mind-boggling tech. I want to shed light on a phenomenon that’s silently but steadily changing the way we perceive and encounter films: Video Marketing. Fasten your seat belts! We’re in for a journey to the future of cinema in this era of video marketing.
A Personal Encounter
Remember back in the day when you could only get movie teasers in theaters, and DVD purchases were your best option for an intimate experience with films? In my house, we had a massive collection of DVDs ranging from Disney classics to the latest blockbusters. However, everything changed with the advent of Video Marketing.
The Impact of Video Marketing
Quick trivia: do you know that by 2022, online videos would make up more than 82% of all consumer internet traffic? That’s 15 times higher than it was in 2017, according to Cisco! These videos aren’t just about cat clips or prank wars; they also include your favorite movie trailers, teasers, and snippets shared via YouTube, social media, and even the filmmaker’s website.
- The ease of access
- Ability to reach global demographics instantaneously
- Option to get interactive responses from viewers
These were some of the features that made video marketing the sweetheart of filmmakers and marketers alike. Can you still believe that just years ago, we had to wait months to see a trailer?
My Prospects for Future Cinema
In the era where video campaigns reign supreme, I believe multiple changes are awaiting the film industry. I’m not talking only about the way movies are marketed but more about how they will be conceived and produced as well. Ever heard of interactive films? Movies where you, as a viewer, get to decide the fate of the characters! Netflix’s “Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” is a brilliant example.
Not only that, but I believe the rise of video marketing will also empower independent producers and newcomer filmmakers. With the right promotional campaign, they can reach a global audience, breaking the barriers of Bollywood or Hollywood.
In the end, everything we predict is just speculation. The actual future might be a lot more overwhelming (in a fantastic way) or entirely different from what we imagine. However, one thing I’m certain about is that Video Marketing will continue to play a pivotal role in the evolution of cinema.
